A case of hereditary spherocytosis in a 8 year old girl and her brief family history were presented. Diagnosis was based on spherocytes in peripheral blood smears, increased osmotic fragility, hemolytic anemia and splenomegaly. Marked clinical improvement was observed by splenectomy.
